John and I arrived early in the afternoon and enjoyed the delightful family atmosphere of this charming festival that we've played at four times in the last seven years. Part of that atmosphere was the music emanating from the beer pavillion up the hill from the main stage. We soon discovered it was coming from a band called 1st Degree, an impressive group of rock musicians, the oldest being 15-years-old. Wow. The main stage is one of the biggest and best that we've ever had the honor to play on. Not only was that good for us, but the space was also put to good use by Mike Price, a renowned juggler from Las Vegas who put on quite a show between our sets. Once again, we managed to dodge bad weather, although the temperature did drop pretty bad late in our show. That didn't matter when our old buddy Jason Mansmith of the band Bent heated things up with a blistering lead vocal on "Crazy Train." It was all part of a festive evening that seemed to end too soon. Hopefully we'll continue the tradition of playing here next year. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Laura B: "As always you guys RAWK!!! I have so much fun at every show I have never seen a bad show. The crowd just loves you! Wish you played more in IL but Cin & I would drive anywhere to see our Boyz!! ;) Love the fire on the drums Frankie, been a long time since seeing that! Also Great "seeing" ya Shane. LOL :)" Ashley: "Hey guys! Just wanted to say that you played a kick ass show. It rocks having you guys there!!" long, long time fan: "Was my 1st time for this festival. Was well worth the long drive, you guys are truely amazing. John just gets better with age, and is a lot of fun to watch. Thanks again for making the long trip worth it and then some. See you again soon!" Bittersweeteus: "As the sun begins to settle in the west, our attention is drawn to a stage that has held many bands. Tonight it's CherryPie's turn to put themselves in the spotlight and to entertain the many patrons with their musical expertise. As they play their instruments, they're pushing out 50,000 watts of power which makes sparks fly in the dead of the night. And John, whose sex appeal emanates from him, is always on a rockn' overload as he pushes the limit and has the willingness to take it to the hilt! These CP guys owned that stage for one night and proved that they are the kings of the nighttime world." Me, Me, Me: "Nice day for a put in an uncovered cage...to smell the smells, see the country-side and hear my almost fav group of wailers - Cherry Pie. Enjoyable...you Bet! ! ! Town fests are back to nature...love it." amber: "Awesome as usual!!! You guys are the reason I look forward to Riponfest. Hope to see you again next year and many years after that. Will have to try to catch you up around this area more often. Thanks for an incredible show..Cherry Pie Rocks!!!" Brittni: "Heyyy YOU GUYS ROCKED i am probly the one of your younger fans that knows all the words to your songs." New Groupie: "This was the first time I saw you guys and I'm HOOKED. I didn't have a voice the next day from singin' along. Thanks for the autographed poster, and Shane thanks for the "pick". Try to get more gigs in this area guys!! YOU ROCK!!!" Lissy: "As always another great show. For once the hometown rocked! Prost for all the great photo opts your provided, especially Johnny and Shane. Josh- can't thank you enough for signing me.
