A Word from Josh:
East Troy is a very small town located just off of I-43 between Milwaukee and Beloit. However, for a long time it has been very well-known because of the nearby Alpine Valley Music Theater. In recent years it has also been gaining notoriety for it's giant beer tent during 4th of July weekend, and we were honored to be invited to take part in this year's festivities. As with Alpine Valley, the East Troy Beer Tent draws people from surrounding communities and tends to fill up with crowds exceeding the population of the town. That fact along with the spacious solid wood stage seemed tailor-made for a larger-than-life Cherry Pie show. Like many Independence Day festivals in the area, the major fireworks show was being saved for Saturday night, so it was up to us to provide a spark tonight. John did a wonderful job of playing up the theme of the evening which included making use of various star-spangled hats, beach balls and other fun paraphernalia. He also worked the mic brilliantly, extolling the celebratory aspect of the holiday as well as the more reflective and philosophical aspects. The show went well in front of a large festive crowd although we were somewhat baffled by something... Hundreds of people rocked out with us up close to the stage and a couple thousand more drank and danced on the far half of the tent. In between, about 40 to 50 feet from the stage, there was a pronounced gap where relatively few people were hanging out. This gap got smaller over the course of the evening but never quite went away. I suppose maybe we're just too loud for some people.     --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Bittersweeteus:
"It was something to see such a huge tent that was filled with plenty of people who came out to enjoy the weather and the company of friends. And who better to entertain these patrons, was the ever-so popular 80's coverband, CherryPie. They supplied a different kind of fun which included their high-spirited antics and hard rocking tunes. And John, who's stealthy in his movements and looks so enticing in whatever he wears, kept everyone in a fun-loving mood as he did his own comical antics. The show was outstanding and it's always a pleasure to watch you guys to where you just "Can't Get Enuff" of a good thing."

Debbie & Gary:
"What a wonderful time we had that night. A great way to spend the 4 of July. Alot of old friends were there and alot of new one also. We even brought our friends Bill & Chris with us. They come to shows with us from time to time. Bill really liked the Metallica set of songs. Well you know we always enjoy coming to your shows. Lately with gas the way it and life the way it changes, we have not been to as many as we would have liked to. You guys always make us feel apart of the group. Have a couple great weeks and we will see you at State Fair on Aug. 1st. This week we have the Racine county fair with the boys and their dairy cattle. Hugs and kisses."
