A Word from Frankie: Oh yeah! We were back shakin' THE SHACK, and for a great cause! It was a benefit for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in America. I think all of us have lost someone dearly to some form of cancer. I lost my mom a little over a year ago to colon cancer. It's a terrible disease, and what patients have to go through is pretty awful. Chemo, radiation, blood transfusions, surgeries, etc., then there's the side effects such as, loss of hair, nausea/vomiting, fatigue, loss of appetite, mouth sores, and diarrhea, just to name a few. So if you think you're having a crappy day, week, or life, take a step back and reevaluate the situation. A lot of people have it worse. Attitude is everything... I just read that somewhere. (Thanks Poppa Z!) For everyone who helped put this event together, and for everyone who came out and helped raise money... THANK YOU! YOU are the unsung HEROES! Now on a lighter note... The show went great! Positive energy filled the room, and it's a BIG room... Actually it's a shack! :) I think we heard the chant for pour some sugar on me about 100 times. Before, AND after we played it, and in the car ride home, and in my dreams that night, and... and... and POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME! Prizes were raffled, drinks were drunk, smiles were smiled, and most importantly pocket books were generous for an evening with a great cause. Thanks again! Hope we can help ROCK the fight against Cancer again next year! --The Trash
Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Jennie: "Sorry, I did miss the show. But I was thrilled to see you added "We all Die Young" back to the set list. I would love to hear it the next time I see you which is May 24th. Thanks guys." Kari: "I was so excited to hear original music from these talented rockers. So when and how can we purchase a CD?" Bittersweeteus: "CherryPie to help kick the ass of cancer, you can't get any better than that! They used their kick-ass musical techniques to entertain the many patrons who turned out to show their support to an organization that provides support to many cancer patients. And John, who has the brawn to back up his attitude but at the same time can be a sweetheart, was able to keep things running smoothly through the night. It felt good to help support a very needed organization and also to watch an awesome group of guys who help out in any way they can to these benefits. I need to add one more thing, the original songs are well written and I love hearing them!! The lyrics and the music are professionally blended together!" James Kennedy: "Don't Treat Me Bad!!!" ernie hess: "step inside...." |
