A Word from Josh: This week must be monsoon season in Wisconsin bringing torrential rains and dangerous lightning for the fourth day in a row. I've seen this kind of thing down in Florida, but I don't remember ever seeing anything like it up here. And yet, we also feel totally blessed this week because, for a second straight night, our show fell during a break in the weather; a dry oasis of time void of rain and full of musical excitement shared with hundreds of festival-goers. All weekend we've been proving that family crowds and 80s rock actually mix together pretty well. As for the show itself, we battled technical problems related to the electrical source during the first set. Our skilled crew made some adjustments during the break and the second set sounded much better. On stage we were having all sorts of fun all night. One of the more unusual moments came late in the show when John left the stage as Shane sang "Rebel Yell." John found a bicycle behind the tent and decided to bring it up on stage before the next song. He pretended it was a big Harley a la Judas Priest or Motley Crue. We played around with motorcycle sound effects which led to us spontaneously playing "Girls Girls Girls." It was typical of the fun we shared with the enthusiastic crowd all night. Hopefully, we will come back for another fun night at this festival next year. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Binky: "Man, you guys rocked our faces! WOOOOOO!" Melisa: "Johnny's bicycle was a nice touch! It's amazing how each show has it's own vibe, and this one was no exception. You guys rock!" Bittersweeteus: "You can feel the wind of change coming. The days are getting shorter, cooler nights, and CherryPie will soon be doing the club scenes. But they are still doing the fest scene and this was one night of excitement. Before the CP guys appeared, the fans were already getting close to the stage. The guys performance proved that rock'n'roll ain't noise pollution and ain't gonna die. They rocked hard and loud. John, wearing a tiger print shirt that exhibited his stealthy and unfaltering mannerism then later wearing his favorite Slayer shirt, kept the fans in a rock'n'roll trance til the end. The show was filled with great hard rockn' songs mixed with those good ole love ballads which appeased any kind of rock'n'roll fan." |
