A Word from Josh: Despite what the skeptics say, we did actually do a show at Kelly's on Saturday night. There were even a couple hundred witnesses. They didn't fill the large room too well, but they certainly were very loud. A lot of friends and familiar "Regulars" braved the wonderful weather to come inside and party with us, including a couple friends who drove out from Madison and spent the band breaks trying to corrupt me with home-crafted drinks and a lap dance. Although I remain an upstanding pillar of virtue, I did appreciate the effort (a lot). The show itself may not have been particularly memorable, but I must tell you that it was great just being on stage at all following recent adversity and a planned vacation. I made the most of the time off by traveling down to several southern states where I visited places important to me as a child and discovered some newer tourist attractions. It was a great trip, during which the humanitarian side of me started to hatch an ambitious plan to make the world a better place by eradicating Southern accents from the planet via a combination of education programs and euthanasia. Hmmmmm, do you think I could win a Nobel Prize for something like that? Anyway, Sunday was club-owner Kelly's birthday. I had expected that we'd help him celebrate and make a big fuss about it, but I didn't even see him after 9 PM. I guess that after a certain age you just have to get to bed earlier. Or, maybe he was out enjoying the weather in the wee hours of the morning. I know I was, once the show was over and I had finished packing up. With Mars flickering brightly overhead, I eventually headed down the road toward dawn pretty darn happy to be alive. - Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Sheila: "Great show guys! Mised ya since Summerfest! My friend Laurie was a CP Virgin and she loved you guys!" Bittersweeteus: "The crowd was small but they rocked hard! As for me, it felt good to get out and party again. The CP guys were really rowdy, especially John! He was showing a side of him I have never seen before, it was a bit eccentric. I thought it was kind of interesting. It was great to hear some old songs and I think all the songs throughout the night were blended together nicely. To put it all into one word, the night was memorable." Teri: "Got a little lost getting there. But had alot of fun since state fair.Love how you mix up the set sheet. Always full of energy!!! It was nice also talking to other cp fans (Ruth) and getting inside scoop on cp. I love Shane's sweet sexy smile!! See ya at Rooter's. Love you Pie's" |
