Fun on Stage |
The Attic Ballroom is definitely one of the best rooms to play in I've ever seen. It's large with a big stage and houses a top-notch house sound and light system. The turnout was a bit disappointing, especially for such a large room, but the show went well and we received a lot of positive feedback. Most of you know that John likes to get people in the audience to sing the "Nah nahs" at the end of "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'" but this time a woman came up on stage at the beginning of the song insisting on singing the verses. She grabbed the mic from John's hand a couple of lines in and proceeded to do a very good job on the vocals. She also did well with a couple of sexy dance moves along the way. Later we found out that her name is Sharon Rowley. A little later, Rick Breitenfeld approached us wanting to sing a song. We let him come up for "Once Bitten Twice Shy" which proved to be a mistake as he didn't know many of the words and bailed out about half-way through. Scott Aney came to the rescue as he raced to the stage and sang the rest of the song. It was all very amusing. People on hand to enjoy the festivities included Cindy Hill, Stacy Honer, Jason Freel, Linda Breitenfeld, Dave Shanklin, DeEtte Shanklin, Josie Gieshirt, Dave Gieshirt, Bob Schultz, Brad Statz, Renee Rozanas, Ross Johnson, Dave Swenson, Jeannette Swenson, Jim Swenson, Ann Swenson, Jennifer Cupp, Rod Cupp, Pat Byrnes, Mandi Schultz, Terri Helm, Scott Meyer, Dan Leach and Tony DeRosa. Devoted fan Tammy Rehak came to the show from Milwaukee bringing along several friends including Theresa Paust, Doug Paust, DeAnna Duran, Scott Hornburg and Terry Regall. -Josh |
