A Word from John:
Cherry Pie is always looking to break into new markets so when we had a chance to play at the famous Hooty's in Baraboo we knew that this was a good opportunity for us. Hooty's is known for having top notch local bands such as The Love Monkeys, RoadTrip, Luck of the Draw and some pretty impressive national acts which include Sebastian Bach, Quiet Riot and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Having said that, we knew we had a chance to get our foot in the door to a good market and a great club. Now I must tell you that in Wisconsin there is a little thing called "deer hunting season." This is the time of year when everyone trades in the Green Bay Packer colors for blaze orange and life as we know it stands still for 9 days. I guess what I'm getting at is we knew the deck was stacked against us but rockin' is our business and lately business has been good. Despite a less than capacity crowd the people we met were very enthusiastic and more than made up for the lack of numbers. We talked to many people who were very grateful that we brought this type of music and entertainment back into the area and everyone was saying that the next time we perform at Hooty's it will be packed and ready to go crazy. We are looking forward to our return trip - hopefully soon.

Before I sign off I just want to thank the owner of Hooty's, Tom, for being one of the nicest club owners we have met in some time. The staff at Hooty's was top-notch and I want to thank Tom's lovely wife Lisa for the post-gig pizza she prepared for the band. That sure hit the spot. Thanks again and hopefully we can come back for seconds.    -johnny s.

P.S. On behalf of all the members of Cherry Pie, I just want to wish everyone a very happy and safe Thanksgiving. Be good and we'll see you at Nick's Nicabob on the 30th.
