There was a certain electricity in the air tonight, suitable for the Halloween season. Technically, the show ran very smoothly, hampered only by the club's decree that John could not use his confetti cannons, apparently remembering what a pain in the ass they were to clean up after the last time we were there. Our good friend Maribeth Luedtke was celebrating her birthday. Maribeth loves Dokken, and so we brought her up on stage during "Alone Again" where she was surprised by cakes and X-rated gifts presented to her by Sheila Tate, Lynn Rittberg, Erika Kaegler, Connie Aney, Barb Prueher and Stacy Hackl. This wonderful moment was not the only hijinx that went on during the show as it seemed ever other minute something was going on to add to the party atmosphere, ranging from other birthdays to a wild "Captain Morgan" promotion to guest musicians to outrageous Halloween costumes. Others in attendance included Lisa Danning, Dale Scott, Lonnie Stinewal, Chris Stinewal, Robin Vallin, Michelle Wettstein, Colleen Evans, John Ochtrup, Laura Ochtrup, Tom Eggert, Wendy Eggert, Michael Sopina, Kevin Sopina, Rachel Lapalme, Julie Keller, Carolyn Truman and Tracy Swatek. Musicians in attendance included Kevin and Erin from Zoinks, Dave Drout of Croszing Jesus and Bill of Private Gigs. A group of young men off of stage left were acting very supportive of our show right from the beginning. As the night progressed they got drunker and drunker and acted even MORE supportive. Finally, one of them felt determined to jam with us and bugged us repeatedly to let him on stage. Finally, Shane let him play bass on "Everything About You". It quickly became obvious that this guy didn't have a clue how to play bass. Shane tried to help him, but the guy was trashed beyond reason and Shane took his bass back by the end of the second verse. As the song came to an end, Shane got a big laugh as he asked the crowd, "Did that bass player suck or what!?" During "Talk Dirty to Me", Dale Scott pranced across the dance floor with his pants around his ankles. "Why do guys always want to undress when I'm singing?" asked Shane. A couple of Dale's friends joined us on stage, a woman dressed as a spirited 50's bobby-soxer and a man as a tall Michael Jackson who did an impressive moon-walk. We were pleased when the fully outfitted "Captain Morgan" and his foxy assistants spent some extra time partying with us following their promotional obligations, both on stage and on the dance floor. All the extra-curricular activities pushed the show on late into the night. We played our encores with the house lights on. Normally, we wouldn't do a slow song in an encore, but a couple of folks were requesting "Beth", plus we noticed some hard-core Kiss fans in the crowd. So we did it and it went over great.    -Josh
