Band on Stage |
A Word from Josh: The last time we played here the room was called Illusions so I guess you could say that this was the first time we "took it to the Limit" although it is a room that we are very familiar with. That familiarity paid off as we had probably the best crowd ever in this building. It was a satisfying pay-off after a hectic set-up caused by The Limit hosting an afternoon party which prevented us from loading in until 7 PM (usually we load in at 5). We responded with a pretty solid show that the packed house really got into. Of course many of our "regulars" were in the crowd including Maribeth Luedtke who came up on stage to present some "naughty" birthday presents to our friend Brandi. But Maribeth didn't know that we had a surprise in store for her. She and her husband Paul had produced the Cherry Pie banners that we hang on the stage and tape to the floor at every show. They presented them to us as a gift early last year. In a sentimental gesture of gratitude we had taken the first of those banners (which was weather worn and battered) and covered it with autographs and personal messages (such as "Thanks for all the love", "You kick ass", "Stop the monkey", "Hemlock is poison" and "Punch the clown") and gave it back to Maribeth as a souvenir. She seemed quite touched. Although the bar is under new management, some of the bar staff remains the same including lovely young Christine and Amanda. Amanda was wearing a T-shirt that said "I Love Rock Stars" which she told us she bought specifically for our show! Way cool! She also told us that we tend to bring in nice crowds who drink a lot and are great tippers. So, to all of you who frequent our shows, thanks for making us look good! - Josh |
