Band on Stage |
This evening started out somewhat oddly. First of all, it snowed quite a bit outside while we were setting up inside - quite shocking so early in the season. During our first set the crowd was a bit smaller than had been hoped, and was not particularly enthusiastic either. Perhaps it just seemed this way because we've been spoiled by some really great crowds lately, including our last trip to O'Brien's back in April. Some of our "regulars" were doing their best to keep things hopping which kept our spirits up. These included Maribeth Luedtke, Erika Kaegler, Sheila Tate, Sherry Becker, Connie Aney and Barb Prueher. In particular, Maribeth helped keep us excited with her antics on the dance floor :-) Also, Sheila was finally able to introduce us to her new boyfriend John Hetfeld. Halfway into the night things really started picking up as many more people arrived to check out the show including our friends Jim Chiello and John Hauser. The second set started with a bang, the dance floor filled up and the energy level of the whole room remained high for the rest of the show. This was O'Brien's so of course Dawn Farris and Tammy Rehak were there doing their part to help keep up the excitement. Once again Scott Aney was on hand to add excitement by spinning great tunes while we were not on stage. Overall, the show which had gotten off to a slow start really hit its stride down the stretch and proved to be quite successful. Unfortunately, it ended somewhat anti-climactically when a misunderstanding with the bar personnel prevented us from doing an encore. Oh well, always keep them wanting more. -Josh |
