Band on
Stage

Our show at this same club three weeks ago was successful enough that they invited us back right away, this time teaming us up with another band and a Budweiser "Bud Girl" bikini contest. A radio promotion and heavy advertising had hopes running high that the place would be packed. Well, it wasn't exactly packed but it was pretty full and there were certainly plenty of people there to have a great night. The band Liquid Crush got things started with a great 80 minute set of rock tunes covering three decades. The crowd loved it. Our set started with some technical problems (commonplace when dealing with multiple bands) but those were ironed out within a few minutes. Musically we were not very sharp, but the atmosphere was smokin' and we had a great time. Some fans continue to amaze us with their long travels to see us play. On this night Tom Birkenmeyer, Scott Aney and Connie Aney came up from Kenosha while Ann Mehlbrech and Ron Mehlbrech came over from Wisconsin Rapids. Maribeth Luedtke and Erika Kaegler made the trip from Milwaukee. Some of our Sheboygan friends who were in attendance included Barb Prueher, Cathy Dorsano, Karen Fleck, Laurie Abraham, Eric Crittenger, Lisa Heberlein and Sandy Guell. Sherry Becker and Jeff Wakefield each dropped by briefly to say "Hi". The "Bud Girl" bikini contest took place on the stage during the break between our sets. John was recruited to be one of the judges (yeah, really had to twist his arm). The contest was every bit as wild and exciting as one would hope as dozens of people packed themselves against the stage trying to get a view of the action. The top two winners were announced during our second set after which the lucky ladies stayed on stage with us and sang back-up on "Once Bitten Twice Shy". I had seen Liquid Crush drummer Mike Gourlie sing "Beth" with his Kiss Tribute band Creatures of the Night so we invited him up on stage to sing it with us which he did very well. Some of the new faces in the crowd who I was fortunate enough to meet included Charity Jarozewski, Dee Snider (Yes, she swears that's really her name), James Niemann, Tracy Higgins, Reggie Harris, Peggie Wieland, Anne Butler, Jim Gruber, Misty Moltzau, Chloe Selaiden, Carl Zimmerman, Emily Lee, Paul Reis and Tina Fansdau.    -Josh
