A Word from Josh:
When we booked this show we knew that it would be the first and last time we'd ever play this room. It is scheduled for demolition early next month. Of course, we thought it would have been cool to play there on their last night. With the pyro we like to use and the mess we like to make, it would be awesome to actually destroy a room we were in as part of the show. Perhaps at some other venue. Anyway, John showed up feeling pretty good having heard that someone had called him a "Hottie" on our website. We had to point out that he had actually been called "Haughty". Well, after consulting a dictionary, he was understandably disappointed. He commented to me, "I'm chagrined at the palpable virulence of the dispatch". Well, we can't be all things to all people and, of course, John didn't let that affect his performance. In fact, I thought the whole band played pretty well considering we were coming off of a three week break. The room was very small and it was packed beyond capacity before we even took the stage. This resulted in an electricity in the air that we were really able to groove on. Special props go out to Danny Black who brought in a big party for the show. There were also several local celebrities in attendence as some members of Rhythm Method, the Sweet Tarts, the Barbeez and the Love Monkeys caught the show. Festivities were also spiced up by a couple of birthdays including for long-time CP Regular Julie, who was celebrating her 30th with uncommon calm, and bartender Stephanie who shared her cake with the band after the show. Additional thanks go to Dawn and Tammy for inviting us to their "Taco Party" after the show. Yes, it was a high-calorie night.     - Josh
