A Word from Josh: It's been such a hot week, so we were very happy that temperatures moderated for tonight's show. In fact, I don't think the weather could have been any better. This festival is probably Cherry Pie's most long-standing tradition. They were the first festival to take a chance on us back in 1999 when we were just starting out. Overall, the festival is very family-oriented with it's rides and games. Thus, early in our show the dance floor was occupied mostly by young toddlers dancing to the beat the best they knew how. Not much in line with our reputation I admit, but it was so damn cute! Once the sun was gone for good and the hour grew later the show started resembling more what we are used to. The pavilion filled up with hearty, beer-drinking rock fans and the dance floor filled with hot babes. The event is put on by a fire department, so there were reminders of the new place fire fighters have in our nation's heart since last year. This was evident in posters, T-shirts, pins and a couple of announcements that John made on behalf of 9-11 related charities. Friendly faces in the crowd included newlyweds Brandi and Matt plus the long-awaited return of Colleen who shipped out to the Navy last September. There were many other friends in the crowd, some coming from as far away as Sheboygan. We appreciate all of you who once again made us feel so at home in Oconomowoc. - Josh |
