A Word from Dave: When we last heard from our heroes they were just pulling out from Monroe WI heading due east to Franklin, WI eager to rock the friendly confines of Illusions... So with each member aboard we began our trek across Wisconsin, ready to bring our rock-n-roll show to Franklin. Our goal is simple, to recreate the feeling of an arena big hair tour, from the sound and lights, leather and spandex and beer and groupies, each member of Cherry Pie is extremely dedicated to returning you to an era of carefree fun and excess. I bet you did not know this, but in order to bring our message to the masses each member gave up their former lives for the love of rock-n-roll. Did you know that Jack Hammer gave up a promising porn career for a chance to get behind his drum kit once again. In fact, one porn industry insider was quoted as saying "In a business as UP and DOWN as this, Jack was an individual who always seemed to be on the RISE". Luscious and Johnny are no different, they left behind a glamorous partnership performing show tunes in the piano bars on the Vegas strip. As for Monstro and myself, we passed on the chance to play guitar and bass in the upcoming, much anticipated mall tour by Tiffany. So as we prepared for the evening we were anxious and pumped for another night of rock-n-roll hijinx, but what we got was a crowd that was obviously not ready to party with the Pie. So we had to work a little harder, shift another gear if you will to whip them into shape and by the end of the first set everything was back to normal (you know woman on stage dancing, plenty of drinking etc). In fact one Cherry Pie First-Timer, Brandi, even took to the stage and tried to whip us and the crowd into shape with her own version of Aerobic dance. We later affectionately referred to her dancing as "Pie Bo". Anyway, the rest of the evening was rockin' and certainly made up for a slow start. Big thanks for those who came out: Dale Scott, Maribeth Luedtke, Erika Kaegler, Colleen Evans, Danny Black, Stephanie Roix, Dawn Busalacchi, Andi Brodsky, Vic Manchester, Kelly Feldman, Dawn Farris, Tammy Rehak and scores of others. Also congrats to Lonnie and Chris Stinewal on their Anniversary. Special thanks to Sheila and Stacy for doing a great job filling in for Jasmyn (our AquaNet artist), who was in Hollywood reading for a part in the new Pauly Shore movie (you know hairdressers - never happy with their day gig). So until the rock-n-roll show pulls into a town near you, see ya. - Dave |
