Faces in the Crowd |
A Word from Josh: With the WAMI Awards ceremony this Monday and a lot of great festival gigs on the schedule it might have been easy to "phone in" this show at Sir Buk's. But, of course that would not be the "Cherry Pie way". It would be like a basketball team looking ahead to a big game against the Lakers and then getting their butts kicked by the Grizzlies. The way I look at it, the future is a concept that can prevent us from living today. So, instead of getting too juiced up about upcoming events, we make it a goal to make every single show feel like end-of-the-world sex. To that end, our first set served as mere foreplay as the crowd was typically light and tame early on. But we knew not to worry. Folks around here don't like to get out of bed before 5 PM so we knew that plenty more were on their way. Sure enough, when it came time to start the second set we had to fight our way to the stage where the first song was greeted by a rabid throng of frenzied fanatics who kicked our collective ass with an Apocalyptic orgy of rock'n'roll until bar-time. God, we love playing in Monroe. - Josh |
