| A Word from Nick: Hi fans, Jack Hammer here to tell you all how this past Saturday nights show at O'Briens went down!!! All right here we go! Right from the get go the evening started off with somewhat of a different feel to it. To begin with The Fabulous Jasmyn was not there to the band's hair. Folks, we as a band do not just come out of a box looking like the Cherry Pie you all know and love. Believe me before Jasmyn works her magic on us we are some really hideous individuals! Anyway that being said we have one brave fan who dared to help us out with our hair. Julie Keller did a great job wit what she had to work with. She asked me how Jasmyn usually does my hair and I told her "doaaah....I don't know, just spray the hell out of it and we'll hope for the best." Again, Thank You Julie - you did a great job. The other aspect of the night that really felt different, (for me anyway) was that Johnny Spandex revamped the set list. Now normally I'm used to counting off 4 and we're off and running. I guess you could say that I've become like a well trained little monkey in that respect, so when we opened the night with "Runaway" it took a little getting used too. To compare it to something that we can all relater to it's like this, Ya know how sometimes you order a glass of orange juice from a restaurant and you don't really give it a good look before you take a drink of it and as its going down you notice that it has pulp in it and you say to yourself "Hey, I always drink pulp free orange juice but you know what this is kinda a refreshing change!" Well, now you know how the set list felt for me that night at O'Briens. As for the people...... to tell you the truth, the turnout of people was not as many as we would have hoped, especially because the last time that we were there the place was just a blanket of people, but nevertheless the crowd was still pretty damn good and the band motto, if you will, is that "Whether it's one person or one thousand we will still play as hard as we can for you because you paid to see the show. So damn it, your gonna see a show." In our defense regarding the somewhat modest turnout was that it was so frickin windy that day that I think a lot of people were scared to leave their houses in fear of provoking a really, really bad hair day! Well, it sounds good anyway!!! The freindly faces who braved the wind included Rachel Lapalme, Maribeth Luedtke, Erika Kaegler, Danny Black, Ann Mehlbrech (down from Wisconsin Rapids with her mother, who really rocked), Dawn Farris, Tammy Rehak, Kelly Summerfeld, Lonnie Stinewal, Chris Stinewall, Jim Chiello, Mike Tatera, Stephanie Roix and Julie Hoffman. Two events really stick out in my mind from this night. Number one was that would you have thought that we were playing some club in California because on two separate occasions the band seemed to experience rolling black outs to our amps. Number two was that this was by far the most chicks we have had on the stage dancing through out the night. There were just hot looking women all over the stage! This Friday, April 20th if you have plans, change them, if you don't make them to come out to Germantown and see us at Tequila Boom. Chet and I were out there this weekend to check out the club and I gotta tell you that its a really, really cool place! hope to see you all there. - Jack Hammer |
