A Word from Josh: I tell you, it's great to be one of the few bands on the regular rotation at Kelly's Bleachers II. The room is so big, it's a sign that we've really arrived on the Milwaukee music scene. We've gotten other such "signs" lately, including a feature article in tomorrow's Wisconsin State Journal and a nomination for a couple of WAMI Awards. This is all making us feel really good. But, might all this affirmation be giving us a collective big head? I don't think so - and I think that this show was a good example of our unwillingness to rest on our laurels. The size of the club lends itself well to the big "80s-arena-style" production we try to bring to our shows. True-to-form, we continued to add to the concert experience, this time using TWO video screens which were placed off to the sides of the stage and projected on from behind, giving you the closest thing to a "Bon Jovi at the Bradley Center" experience that a local cover band possibly can (major props go out to our ever-growing lighting crew for that). It's a darn good thing that we all have good day jobs, because the more money we make the more money we spend on crap like this - and you know what?... it really kicks ass! I think we're in the midst of a rather creative roll, adding new songs, staging elements, props, explosives and ways to make a mess with every show. Whether you're seeing Cherry Pie for the first time, or if you come to a lot of our shows, we're striving to constantly offer something new and exciting to everybody. Likewise, the crowds always seem to have a way of offering new and exciting things to us. I find myself knocking on a lot of wood these days - we really appreciate the support you folks give us for doing something that is so fun for us. - Josh |
