A Word from Josh: Illusion's is not a large room, so when you put 250 people in it, it feels pretty packed... just the way we like it! Oh boy, the flesh was flying on the dance floor and the stage may have been the best place to be for the view. Nick, unfortunately, wasn't fully able to enjoy all the money-maker shakin' going on as he was battling the flu. You'd never know it from his performance however, as he played great. Early on we dealt with some all-too-familiar technical problems which, for me, culminated when I lost all power to my keyboards during "Sister Christian". That kinda sucked, but from then on things got a lot better. The first set ended on a high note (no pun intended) when new addition to our setlist "Metal Health" really seemed to whip the crowd into a frenzy. We were glad to see our good friend Dawn Farris in attendance along with some of her friends including Tammy Rehak, Brian Rehak, Serena Rehak, Baron Rehak, Dave and Tommy. Some of the other "usual suspects" included Lonnie Stinewal, Chris Stinewal, Julie Hoffman, Stephanie Roix, Erika Kaegler, Tom Birkenmeyer, Sheila Tate, Danny Black and Adam Kehoe. Late in the show John announced that the band would be taking the next few weeks off because of a soon-to-be "new arrival" in the household of one of the members. "You mean to tell me," I asked him on mic, "that one of the band members has been having sex?" John looked stunned for a moment and responded, "Well, I know it ain't me!" But seriously folks, John really meant it when he told the crowd how greatful the band is for the continually growing support. Of course, families do come first and we really look forward to seeing you all again when we kick it back into gear at the end of the month. BTW, our next Rooter's gig (3/31) falls on Nick's birthday so be sure to help us celebrate that in style. - Josh |
