A Word from Dave:
Friday, February 23rd marked our first return to Rooter's since our New Year's Eve show. It was also our first show in nearly three weeks, and let's face it folks there was quite a bit of rust to say the least, but we managed to somehow make it through an agonizing first set, take a break, regroup and redeem ourselves a bit in the second set. Nevertheless the crowd participation was not lacking. At one point in the evening Shane was engulfed in a sea of body's and John was nearly bumped and grinded right off the stage. Colleen Evans picked up the bass for one song and Tom "The Hog" Hilber took over on drums for three songs. Among the faces in the crowd were Cherry Pie regulars Barb Prueher, Maribeth Luedtke, Erika Kaegler, Tom Birkenmeyer, Lonnie Stinewal, Chris Stinewal, Stacy Hackl, Sheila Tate, John Rady, Sher Rady, Todd Zellmer, Linda Zellmer, Rachel Lapalme, Julie Keller, Lisa Danning, Natalie Loppnow, Lynn Rittberg, Ann Fanke and Connie Aney. As well as newcomers Todd Fink, Rich Reinke, Tina Whiting and one of my most promising young guitar students Jake Fleischmann with his escorts Scott and Ann Swenson. The evening also marked the return of two long time friends of Cherry Pie Tim Gartzke and Jeff Kaminski who proved they had not lost their touch at the bar or with helping us load and unload our gear. And as always holding down the fort was our 6th member John "O.J." Guardalabene. Thanks everyone!     - Dave
