A Word from Josh:
Another great show at Rooters, where the women are strong, the men are good looking and the children go bowling. One highlight of the evening was when a disproportionately large number of lovely ladies came up on stage claiming to be celebrating their birthdays. Unfortunately, we couldn't locate Rooters' Famous Wooden Birthday Ass Paddle, but John certainly couldn't let such an opportunity to live out his ultimate S&M fantasy slip through is fingers. So he managed to get his hands on a large spatula from the kitchen with which he proceded to give many of the on-stage guests a proper "Aunt Jemima Treatment". The moment was literally "amplified" by the fact that our trusty cameraman Brandon zoomed in on each posterior as is was being paddled, thus projecting a 10-foot wide ass being spanked on the video screen above the drums. Yes, the Cherry Pie multi-media extravaganza delivers again! The festive atmosphere continued as women frequently joined us on-stage (whether invited or not) and shook their stuff under the lights and occasionally molested band members as we tried to play our instruments (ah yes, it's rough being a musician). Our stage technician O.J. had his hands full, not only safely operating our pyrotechnic displays, but also making sure that Mardis Gras beads tossed from the stage ended up in the "right hands". Those figure skating judges in Salt Lake got nothin' on this guy. Whatever the responsibily, he is always up to the task. Well, as often happens when we're having too much fun, we ended up running long and had to cut a couple of songs from the end of the set. We'll be sure to get those songs in next Friday when we do it all over again down the road at Nick's Nicabob. See you there.     - Josh
