Well, we hadn't played, nor rehearsed nor even talked to each other in two weeks and the rust showed early. The crowd didn't seem to mind (they seldom do) and after fighting through a less than perfect first set, we settled into our "groove" and filled the dance floor with some enthusiastic rock-n-rollers. Our friends Karen Fleck, Shelly Korlesky, Laurie Abraham, Eric Crittinger and Sherry Becker were in attendance while many of our other Sheboygan "regulars" were conspicuously absent. I suspect that some of them were down in Milwaukee attending the concert by Dream Theater and the Dixie Dregs (not to be confused with the Dixie Chicks), a show we would have liked to have attended ourselves - but... hey, duty calls (I hope that Sheboygan appreciates the sacrifice we made to be with them this night). Anyway, as always, we managed to make some new friends including Tom Birkenmeyer, Barb Prueher, Cathy Dorsano, Patricia Lasko, Melissa Carolfi, Tammy Kautzer and Rick Krueger. The crowd thinned a bit before the third set as many of the thirty-something folks claimed that their beds were calling to them, but then later the dance floor received a resurgence in both numbers and enthusiasm which helped us to bring home the show with a bang down the stretch. We'd like to thank all the die-hards who stuck around to the very end to cap off an exciting night. Especially since the roads received several inches of snow while we were playing. Playing it safe on the treacherous highways I didn't get home until 10 AM. Oh yes, rock and roll is a great life indeed :-) -Josh
