A Word from Josh: You know, there's a cliche in the music business where a musician says that he doesn't care if he's playing for 20,000 people or 20 people, he's still going to put on the same show and enjoy it the same. Well, tonight was one of those times when I'm inclined to say that's total bullshit. This may have been the largest indoor crowd we've ever had and, let me tell you, the crowd DROVE the show. I guess we're sort of an "interactive" type band and when the underwear starts flying and beautiful women packed up against the stage are grabbing at our various body parts, we can't help but put on a better show and, yes, enjoy it big time! Part of the rock concert experience of the 80s was the enthusiastic feedback of a wild crowd. This night, you people definitely delivered on your part of the equation. The rear projection video screen worked particularly well for this show because it really helped people toward the back of the 700+ crowd to feel closer to the action. We debuted "Bed of Roses" by Bon Jovi to a positive response. Now, I do like this song, but I must tell you that it has always been the winner of my personal "Spinal Tap Award" for the song with the most ridiculous lyric for the sake of a rhyme... "I wanna be just as close as - the Holy Ghost is"... LOL! The only true downside to the song is that our beloved, hard-working stage tech OJ has now threatened to blow us up with our own pyro if we learn any more Bon Jovi. What can I say... the chicks dig Bon Jovi and sometimes that's all that matters. - Josh |
