A Word from Shane:
This was yet another Cherry Pie debut in a club not necessarily known for having bands. "Club Fusion" is in the Paradise Lanes bowling alley. It is always a treat playing in a bowling alley because we get some great looks from the bowlers on our walk from the dressing room to the stage. The best way to explain it is that they must be thinking that a mixture somewhere between the Hell's Angels and a Circus just walked by. I was looking forward to this show for a number of reasons, one is that we were on a roll of several great shows, another reason is that this club has a great two-level stage that had room for the band to move. Finally the club was just a few miles from where I live meaning that I could enjoy the evening a bit more than usual. The night started off a bit uneasy, as we didn't have an opportunity to have a sound check but that didn't seem to bother the crowd that was already in the bar and ready to rock. Within minutes of starting the dance floor was taken by a group of hotties that met at the club to celebrate Jasmyn's Birthday. Jasmyn is the band's hairdresser and tonight was her opportunity to let her hair down (I think she caught Johnny Spandex's eye). Jasmyn celebrated with Jennifer, Rene, Jose, Andrea, Rachael, Carmen, Camella, Michelle and Nadia along with their bodyguards John and Chris. These girls really helped keep the dance floor full all night (thanks) and I heard rumors that their party continued on long after hours at the adjacent hotel. Other Cherry Pie regulars that enjoyed the show "closer to home" were Racine/Kenosha natives Lonnie & Chris Stinewal, DJ Scott Rock, Connie Aney, Ann Fanke and Tom Birkenmeyer. There were others that made the long trip down from the north side including Erika Kaegler, Adam, Dietrich, Michelle and Kirsten. Members of the band Easy Livin' were also in attendence showing their support. My friends Mike and Cathy Cormia made their first show with their son (and up and coming bass player) Justin. Justin took over for me on the Journey tune Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin. he did a great job with the bass and the ladies. This also gave me a chance to take over on drums so Nick could show off his dancing "magic", the boy has more moves than a game of chess.

One additional comment that I need to make is that Johnny Spandex has been PHENOMENAL lately. His confidence continues to grow as the band gets tighter and the sound systems (monitors) get better and he is definitely in a zone. If you want to see one of the BEST SINGER/FRONTMAN that any band in the Midwest has to offer you have to make it a point to see Cherry Pie.    - Shane
